Morning Shift Job Application

We are hiring for a morning farm shift position. This job is physically demanding, outdoors, and best for someone who loves animals and takes pride in thorough work.

The responsibilities include feeding alpacas, dogs, chickens, and pigs, cleaning and refilling water buckets, scooping and removing manure from alpaca pens, herding alpacas into and out of pastures, handling animals safely and respectfully, and performing general upkeep such as raking and sweeping. Another important part of the job is observing animals each day to notice any changes in behavior that might signal health concerns.

Applicants must be able to lift 60-pound feed bags and heavy bales of hay, push and dump full wheelbarrows, and work outside in all weather conditions. Rain suits and coveralls are provided for wet or cold days. Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail in cleaning are essential. The right person will be self-motivated, communicate well, take initiative when something needs to be done, and have their own transportation. Prior farm or animal experience is not required, but a genuine respect and love for animals is a must.

This position runs Monday through Friday, beginning at 7:00 a.m. and lasting four to five hours each day, for a guaranteed 20–30 hours per week. Pay starts at $13.50 per hour during the training and try-out period. Once you demonstrate the ability to consistently meet all requirements, the rate increases to $15 per hour. Being hired into training does not guarantee long-term employment; successful performance during training is required for continued hire. Over time there will be opportunities for additional hours and pay increases based on productivity.

The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable with manual labor, does not mind dirt or sweat, and finds satisfaction in keeping animals safe and their environments clean. This role suits a person who loves the outdoors, cares deeply for animals, and pays attention to detail in every task.
